Beautiful campus, nice size, interesting classes. Impressive business school and fun culture plus nice weather.
Seems like it would have broad appeal.

It’s extremely yt. Would not recommend for anyone who does not fit a very narrow box of middle American upper-middle class white folks.

As an alum, I do agree with this. I had a wonderful 4 years, but I did not think very hard about the amount of white privilege on that campus. Only through connecting with classmates on social media more recently have I come to the realization that the school largely lacked diversity. I am hoping for a more diverse school for my child.

I was a bit outside the mold as a northern liberal that didn’t come from a ton of money. My parents did ok, but they were public servants.

The campus is gorgeous, sports events are fun and the education is very good.

Not sure why it doesn’t get the same respect as so many other schools at the same level.

Same level? What schools? Wake Forest is painfully mediocre. I don’t know a single notable alum, notable achievement from the school, no high-ranking programs. Not diverse at all. It’s just… mediocre and bland. But it happens to rank highly in the one ranking that people care about, so it gets some eyeballs. That’s about it.

This post is so dcum.

There’s a young kid trolling this forum hard.

+1. The fact that it’s so bizarrely overrated would be more of an issue if people actually cared about this school.

Sorry your kid got rejected from Wake. But it was still a smart move to at least try to get in; yes, the school is every bit as great as you imagine.

Hahaha oh come on, you aren’t serious.

My son has a friend there now who applied basically as soon as school ended in the spring of junior year. If I have his age right, this would have been 2018? I don't know if that's still the case. IIRC he did not have to submit rec letters either.
