Unless you have a dungeon next to the walk in closet. Then "master" has a whole nother meaning!

We have a sex room and don’t refer to it as dungeon or master in any way shape or form. Typically just call it “our place”, or I will refer to as “my place”.

Well, then, it's not a dungeon, silly!

Not OP, but I think they want to put the tv on the wall but the OP mentions the closet to explain why a dresser under the tv would not have clothes (because all the clothes are in the closet).

Good, I’ll continue to call it the master bedroom.

Sure, and the implication is still the same- all the other room occupants of the home are inferior.

But gee whiz I feel better!

Uhhhhh the occupants of the other rooms in my house are inferior. They’re toddlers. Can I still use master?

Np, I ran into the same dilemma earlier this year and posted about it. My bedroom furniture is wood, and I have a wooden antique chest that I slid under the tv that looks amazing!

The chest is wide and height enough were it takes up enough of the visual space between the mounted tv. I put decorative pillows and a vase on top of the chest to help balance the space more between the wall and tv. And the inside of the chest is perfect for storage.

Oh, for heaven's sake. With that attitude, you are inferior. Don't blame mommy and daddy, blame yourself buttercup.

What happened to calling it the owner’s suite?

I call it “the mortgage payer’s suite” to avoid any non-PC connotations. Hopefully my virtue has been appropriately signaled.

Actually, the grammar columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer -- and quite a progressive chap -- noted that this aversion to using Master bedroom is ridiculous and noted its origin. He says it is one of the times that the PC crowd is way off base. Just saying.
