Sugar Beach in St Lucia. Not an obvious choice but I was surprised by how many families with very young toddlers were there. Def under 100 rooms. Pool is not zero-entry. It’s also pricey but very beautiful. One downside is no direct flight from DC.

They have a zero entry pool but it's not all inclusive. But there's only one restaurant on site so if it's about cutting the decision-making out of your travel that seems like it would be ok. But a real shame to go to Grand Case and not enjoy some food in town!

Playacar Palace. Some of the entries of the pool are zero entry best I can remember. Went will little kids. They also had a nice kids club.

AI means that the food will be bad and you'll be paying for a lot of alcohol you don't drink (unless you're a heavy drinking which you're probably not with a toddler in tow). Skip the AI part and just look for a nice resort with restaurant offerings that look good.

Little dix on virgin gorda does not have a zero entry pool but the beach and bay is so calm it’s basically a salt water equivalent of zero entry. Also has a kids center.

Malliouana (sp?) on Anguilla had a zero entry pool as part of the kids area years ago not sure if it still does and you would be in the kids space away from the main resort.

The Rosewoods aren’t AI but small and very nice. You can get a babysitter and use kids club too.

I went there as a child and remembering it was a bit outdated. I checked the decor and they have refreshed much either. I would love to bring my kids here because it was incredibly fun and you so get your own nanny. It was awesome but I also remember the drive out to the hotel was a little sketchy and I’m not sure it’s gotten better.


It’s still very dated. My sister went a few years ago. Still fun but really dated.

It has a lot more than 100 rooms.

Jewel Grande in Jamaica has about 100 rooms. I liked how small it was. Beach is toddler friendly, small splashpad and playground area, pool with zero entry, great food for an all inclusive.

Do not want a 800 room Ibero star type place - doesn't have to be teeny but don't need like like 7 swim up bars or anything.

Priorities are zero entrance pool and nice beach, and bonus points for local feel/local foods and comfortable beds.


Andaz in Cost rica checks all the boxes but it’s a Costa Rican beach so a little different than a white sand one. Also has very affordable childcare in your room or a kids club for young children. Amazing place!
