I hadn’t enjoyed anything Star Wars since 1985, but I loved Andor. It was my favorite show of the year.

I wish to note, for anyone else here who watched the most recent "Poldark" series on PBS a few years ago now:

Syril Karn, the disgraced security officer now living with mom and trying to get back on Andor's trail, is played by Kyle Soller, who was the ill-fated Francis Poldark. You remember cousin Francis -- he famously engaged in a downward spiral of poor life choices, married Poldark's beloved, and met a watery fate just as he was redeeming himself and becoming a better man. Just was interested to recognize him in this role.

Also: Anyone else seeing Syril as a Javert figure? The lawman obsessing about pursuing one specific criminal, no matter the cost....

My DH mentioned the same thing. I won't be surprised if we never know what they're building--never finding out would just underline the futility of everything, I think. Those parts look like they could be anything from part of a starship to part of a weapon to anything in between. Either we'll never know because it doesn't really matter in the larger scheme of Cassian's story, or we'll find out when we suddenly see those star-shaped parts in some horribly fearsome weapon bearing down on our heroes.....

Yes! I wrote the post to which you're responding (about Fiona Shaw). Kathryn Hunter played Timon here in DC in March, 2020--just before the pandemic shutdowns began. That production of Timon was one of the last things we saw on stage, days before everything shut down hard. When she appeared on Andor I knew her very distinctive voice before I even recognized her face. Hope you saw her as Timon too, PP.

PP here: We did! That was a last-play-before-the-shutdown situation for us, too, and I'm glad it was something as good as that production.

Now that I think of it, we saw Fiona Shaw in Beckett's Happy Days at the Kennedy Center sometime back in the 2000s. She was great.

Gosh episode 6 is so good. I also like the recaps which points out all the Indiana Jones items in Luthen’s shop plus the things frozen in Carbonite.
