Playing in good club tournaments sophomore summer so big plus for being on a competitive club team
Nike National/Under Armour exposure which does tend to be influenced by what high school and club you play for, as demonstrated by who is running/coaching these events
NHLHS exposure which is based on high school team
Having solid film from spring and summer demonstrating strength against other established, known teams and players, both high school and club
Having coaches in high school and club, plus recruiting director, who work together in talking to interested college coaches and sharing information
Great post and couldn't agree with you more. (our son recently went through this whole process
Would also add in your pre Junior year Summer do your best to go to/get invited to certain top showcases, Juniors Open and MainStage come to mind, looks like BIC is also doing well.
When you say “do your best to get invited” what do you mean? How does one’s child get invited?

Anonymous wrote:What is the club tally on ‘24 recruits? Seems like NL has a major lead. What is going on with DCE?
Anonymous wrote: Everyone on here is saying club is more important to recruiting yet websites prominently list the high school and very little info on clubs…

6 out of 26 (if the website roster is up to date), so almost a quarter of the team. NL couldn't care less about developing players, they'll push out players for holdbacks/out of towners/character problems without a second thought. It's a business for them and that's their prerogative but if you're a parent in their program you should always be looking for other options because the coaches definitely are as well.
I think there are 4 out of town kids, two of the Deerfield kids are local even if they don't go to high school in the area. Reality is most of the out of towners (whether NL, ML, and so on) come from areas where there is not a great or large club scene so have no issue with them trying to play on the best teams possible. High school club lacrosse is all about recruiting, if you are looking for development from a club in high school you are generally missing the mark. All the clubs are pretty much the same in high school, all have positives and benefits and definitely can very by age, do your diligence and find the right place. Generally look for the best club (play in best recruiting tournaments) where your child can get meaningful minutes. If not your current club then move on to another club that fits this bill. You can always find a "for fun" club if that is what you want.
