Montessori costs are middle of the pack. There are several neighborhood elementary schools with higher per pupil. People who don't know and don't like Montessori like to claim it must be more expensive because of 2nd adult in upper el. Not true. There is a lot of spending Montessori doesn't do that neighborhoods do, like tech. And there are schools like Jamestown with higher costs because the teachers are more tenured and get paid more (they choose to work there, you know), and/or there are so many specialists/SPED/other services because upper class parents demand nearly 1/1 attention. South schools have been encapsulated in wrap-around services too, of course, so costs at many are high. Say what you want about pedagogues, but Costs ain't an issue. I think many would be shocked to learn just how much certain schools in APS were spending.

I’m sorry, not to scuttle her dreams but do you understand the financial pitfalls of being a vet? It is almost as expensive as med school, but requires long hours, and pays less than a nurse; and depression is rife from all the euthanasia performed.

Just make sure you go in with eyes open if you already lining up Tech for path for a vet. Army Vet is good option to reduce cost.

I asked my vet if she knew about emptying dogs' anal sacs when she dreamed of this career. She said no, that she just liked horses.

NP but my 5 year old knows that emptying dogs anal sacs is part of being a vet.
