I've never gotten "Best" just like I've never gotten the salutation "All." I've noticed that the same type of people use both. It explains why I don't like them.

I exclusively use best for people I hate.

I hate "best" - Best WHAT???

I use "Thank you" or just a dash.

I dislike V/R a lot. Like you couldn't even write it out, how respectful are you?

I use "Thanks," or "Thank you." I'd like to use Best more, but it seems impertinent.

"Thanks" is my standard.

At my last employer everyone used "very respectfully" but that would be weird in my current workplace.

Nothing. I write thank you at the end of the body and include my signature block.

Same here. I know I overuse exclamation marks in emails, but I just can’t quit !!!
