Thank goodness viruses like the flu are not tracked.

I don’t want MCPS wasting a cent of our taxpayer money tracking the flu.

Denial must be a wonderful thing.

Are you pretending that people don’t experience serious, long term side effects from even mild cases.

Yup. He's immune now, but he might have it again in a month.

That’s just the way it’s going to be. Embrace the immunity and get on with your life.

Denial of what? I’m not denying that the flu exists. Not denying that Covid exists.

The point is that it is a waste of resources for MCPS to track cases of Covid in high schools.

Should the county still track deaths from Covid (and the flu)? Yes, of course.

But there is no good reason for high schools to track the numbers of Covid cases. Especially when we know that Covid is not a threat to otherwise healthy high school students.

Let’s not forget that ZERO kids age 0-17 have died of Covid in Montgomery County.

https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/covid19/data/case-counts.html#deaths-age

Lets not forget MoCo has been really lucky with child fatalities but its only a matter of time. However, in MD, DC, and VA children HAVE died of covid as have their parents, and other relatives. Lets not forget a child can bring home covid to a parent or caregiver and that can kill that parent or caregiver. Its not just about the child, but the child being a carrier.

I don't care about death numbers at this point, I care about transmission. I care about getting it. You also don't seem to realize not all high schoolers are "healthy" nor are their family members so you need ot check your privilege.

Sorry to break it to you, but you WILL get Covid at some point. The sooner you come to terms with that, the better off you’ll be.

Anonymous wrote:So is there really a lot of COVID at BCC right now? My kid said so and is feeling sick. He said the person sitting in the desk next to him was out with COVID today. I could not believe how close together the desks were at back to school night. Have we learned nothing in the last 2 years???? It seems impossible that he doesn't have it if the kid sitting two feet away has it.

Anyone else know of COVID cases at BCC?

Every school has Covid cases.

DD was complaining about the crammed in desks, too. She is still masking in class (or so she says at least).

Does the BCC football team still have Covid? Any chance BCC's Friday's home game will be canceled?

Yep! Yay for natural immunity - which has been shown to be robust.

So robust that unvaccinated people are either dead or on the 5th or 6th round of this. Enjoy the results of long COVID. Chronic lung disease is a bummer.

They don't even open the windows at BCC. Are they painted shut? They should all be open.
