Nothing Trivial on Amazon Prime (a New Zealand show) and Home for Christmas on Netflix (a Norwegian show) are two that come to mind that haven’t already been listed. Both are light but not cheesy.

Has anyone watched Time Traveler’s Wife? Not the movie - the series. (Relatively new, not sure which streaming service.)

I LOVED the book. Have been meaning to try the series.

I'm side-eyeing some of these responses. I think people didn't pay attention to this in the OP: that aren't cheesy and where performance, storyline, is at the forefront

Don't get me wrong, I loved this movie but c'mon. It's pretty cheesy, and the storyline has no depth.

My favorite movie is the “before” trilogy with Ethan hawke and Julie delpy. Follows their love story in three movies each a decade apart.
