We are both ES teachers. We received our 2nd booster in early August, so I'll probably ask my doctor about when to get this one.

We are both 51 y/o.

The first day Walgreens has the doses in this area, I believe.
Some posters have come on here to claim CVS has some now, but the pharmacist I spoke to on the phone said they wouldn't arrive until next week.

As far as we know, none of us 2 adults and 2 tween/teen have had Covid.

The pharmacist you spoke to is wrong. I checked the computer records of the vax I got yesterday at a CVS in Vienna and it literally says Moderna Bivalent.

The Pfizer ones seem to be arrived mid next week at Walgreens anyway.

Also got it this weekend at CVS in Vienna; they must have received it in advance of the approval. I also verified it was the Modern Bivalent; I don't think they are allowed to boost with the OG version anymore.

In MD I don't know of a CVS that's stocked. So I guess it depends on the state.

MoCo Health sites have moderna but no pfizer yet.

Wednesday.

We take more precautions than the vast majority of people and everyone in my household tests fairly frequently-- so I'm pretty sure we really have not gotten it yet.

I haven't been boosted since November, so both DH (boosted twice b/c he's 50+) and I are getting the bivalent booster this week. Our kid just started school and while they mask most of the day, they do have to eat inside. That's our biggest risk, and why I'm happy to get boosted ASAP.

I mean I was never qualified for the OG second booster.

Yes the one I went to is on Maple Avenue. Additionally, when I signed up it gave me no questions about being under 50 (which I am). I was never qualified for the OG booster. I don’t think they are giving it out anymore either. There is no longer a point to it with the new authorizations and recommendations.

Anonymous wrote:Our pediatrics office (Capitol Medical) does a covid newsletter. They recommend getting the booster in "the next month or so" for those who haven't had covid or a booster in the last 3-4 months. They also mention that if you have a big event, 2-3 weeks ahead of time is a good time to get the booster.

I scheduled for the last day I could get an appt at Walgreens. I am going to my first concert post-pandemic and figure better to be booster vax'd than not. I also have not had Covid (unless I was asymptomatic and didn't know).

Friend is an ob/gyn out in California with Kaiser. The recommendation there is to wait 6 months after COVID. She had it in May, so will wait until Nov for this booster.

If you've recently had Covid talk to your doctor about the timing of the booster. Doctors on twitter are discussing a study that came out

We just made appointments for next weekend. We all had omicron in May. It's been 10 months since DH and I were boosted, 8 months since 15 year old was boosted, and 4 months since 12 year old was boosted.

DH and I got ours on Saturday. Both of us got our last booster in October 2021 and have not gotten covid since then.

I am waiting till November, which is 4 months after I had COVID. It's not recommended to get it until 4 months after - won't hurt you, but may not work.
