Good, then they can ride their e-bike in the street with the rest of the motorized vehicles. That’s what streets are for. Just stay the F’ off the paths reserved for walkers and regular bikes.

E-bikes have no place at all on MUT’s. They are MOTORIZED VEHICLES. Period. This isn’t subject to interpretation or argument. E-bikes HAVE MOTORS. The law specifically states “no motorized vehicles”.
E-bikes belong on the road - and ONLY on the road - with the rest of the MOTORIZED vehicles.
MUT’s are for use by walkers and self-propelled bicycles.
Otherwise what’s the difference between an e-bike on the trail and a full-on electric motorcycle? None. That’s what.

Arlington county barely enforces speed limits on their roads.
I agree combustion engines on bike paths are inevitable. Will start with scooters then it will be road warrior existence

The electronic bikes and scooters belong on the street - we have enough lance Armstrong wannabes riding obnoxious enough and do not need ones who cannot even pedal going as fast or faster. I am so annoyed.

Maybe the public share versions.
Private bikes are over 35mph everyday in Arlington. There are no speed traps or speed cameras set up. No enforcement.
I bet in the next year we see atv and mx bikes takes over.

Aren’t e-bikes generally used to assist on hills? The ones that I’ve encountered aren’t going all that fast, certainly less than the high end road bikers.
