And I have a bunch of emails from our school in March through May 2019 referring to MCAP testing dates.

They rebranded the PARCC the MCAP in anticipation of the change but didn't start using the new test until the fall of 2021. As an earlier poster noted, the scoring was different on the new test.

It was really still just the PARCC at that time. PARCC scores were on a scale of 1-5. When they switched to their proprietary test in the fall of 2021, I think the scale was 1-3.

I get that it's a new test that hadn't ever been given before 2021 but seriously they could at least try to work out the bugs before using it.

That is incorrect. The PARCC was given at the end of 2019, but MCAP was first administered in the fall of 2021. Its rollout was delayed because of the pandemic.

The article states it was their intent to phase out the PARCC after the end of 2019l.

Yes, I have the PARCC card for the Spring of 2019 too. MCAP was supposed to start the following year but was delayed because of the pandemic.

My kid got 5's on their 2019 PARCCs and 99% on both MAPs. When they took the MCAP last fall for the first time, their MAPs were still at 99% but this new test the state cooked up they got an average score. I'd believe it if their MAP had gone down too but seems more like they might've been better off just sticking with the PARCC which is a national test. Not sure why they feel the need to develop their own test. It kind of reminds me of the same arrogance that led to C2.0.

Correct MCAP is a lame version of the map which is just less well thought out. It is not an intelligence test.

Not a thing. My child got the highest score possible and nowhere did it say he got 100 percent. The scoring is not communicated that way.
