+1 for Clyde's/Old Ebbitt/Hamilton. They are all the same restaurant group and have really good crab cakes.

I know people love Market Lunch but I don't think their crab cakes are that good.

Definitely Blacksalt in NW DC. Either from their restaurants or you can buy them raw in the fish store.

Joes Stone Crab by the White House. Had one at a work dinner earlier this summer and was extremely impressed.

Agree with others who recommend Quarterdeck for crab picking, but having had their crab cakes.
