My child will go to Macafarland next year and my older one did already. Came from one of the bilingual elementary schools.

Is this a joke? No one on this board is sending their kids to MacFarland. Everyone in any of the DCPS or charter spanish programs wants to get into DCI.

Anyone can get into MacFarland, that’s 100%, look at their waitlist. If you are not in a feeder to DCI, you basically have 0% chance.

The lesson from the pandemic is that schools are what they are. There are no up and coming schools that will be drastically different in 10 years.

I did look there were ZERO seats offered in the Spanish track, the most in demand given the number of Spanish language elem school, for grades 6-9. DCI doesn't have enough seats for the feeder elem kids in the next three years, so highly unlikely to get in without already being at a feeder

Zero seats offered, but 42 waitlist offers made, so I don't know why you would make a big deal over zero seats offered.

MV seems to be having a tough time with upper grades retention, so I'm not even sure it'll be sending up full classes to DCI.

They will, they have 70 seats at DCI and double that amount of 5th graders.

There are enough seats for all MV 5th graders this year.

That's not true. Feeder students get first dibs at the non-feeder spots once the feeder spots are allocated to feeder students.
