Now, that might be expected, but Geico took us on and gave us a very reasonable rate. I’m thinking I will look around again in a few years when DS’s record isn’t so fresh but the secret is: be a new customer. Take the teaser rate from anybody and then look around again a few years later.
What's a reasonable rate on a new driver? Because I'm expecting a few fender benders--especially with three new drivers.
I’m the PP. Our rate went from $200/ semi-annually to $200/month. After the accidents, USAA wanted $400/month. Geico gave us $250/month and we took it. Yes, I could throttle my kid for all of this but he is maturing and driving much slower and safer as I told him all privileges would be lost if we ended up having to pay more than this. Should caveat: these rates were not in the DMV area.
OP here. Woah. Is this NYC? Because doubling it its crazy. Our rate is currently $200 p/m for just DH and I we're 50+ and now here come our Gen y kids. One of them works so he can pay but the others are in college.
