If a twin is what works and gives her more floor space to play in, go twin. And remember, when she goes to college she'll be in a twin there as well!

We have queen beds in all our rooms except the master which has a king bed. When my kids were little they liked having huge beds to sleep in. It was great when we had guests visiting because an adult couple could sleep in our kid's bed and the kid could sleep with us on the king bed. If my kids wanted to have a parent nap with them, we could do that easily on a queen sized bed.

I find it ridiculous to make kids sleep on tiny beds. Why?

I slept in a twin until I got married at 29. 5'4" woman.

From 18-29, I much preferred having the floor space than a giant bed in my small urban studio / 1 br apartments.

I don't see the assumed virtue of sleeping in a twin bed. Its fine if its all you have, but if you want to be really comfortable, why not get a bigger bed? I don't see the big deal either way.

Kids don't physically outgrow twins, you would be fine getting one.

However, we always do fulls or queens for kids because it gives us more versatility with guests. When cousins or friends visit, they can sleep in the bed with our kids and then we don't have to make up a trundle or sleeping bag on the floor, which takes up a lot of space. And we've also had our youngest come sleep in our bed with us when we've had friends or family visit, and then they can sleep in her full bed. You can do that with twin beds, too, of course, but a couple can't share a twin bed and I also think it's kind of weird to ask an adult to sleep in a twin.

It also makes it more comfortable for us when we read to our kids at night, to be able to stretch out in a full size bed with them, or when they are sick I will sometimes just camp out next to them with my laptop for periods of time to monitor a fever or a breathing.

My DH is 6'5" and fits in an XL twin just fine. At least as well as any other bed.

My daughter has 2 twin beds in her room and sometimes I sleep in there in one of the twin beds when she's having trouble sleeping or when she's sick. It's perfectly comfortable for me, an adult (5"6). I think it works fine for any age kid/person unless they're very tall.

I like my son having more room on his floor to play. And then later, there will be room for a desk to study at.

Same. Get an XL twin if you are worried about length (it's the same length as a king bed). But for width with one person, a twin is completely sufficient.

I got a queen when I was done with college, but that was almost by accident because someone had a hand me down mattress. Also, I was interested in sharing by then...

My kids went from cribs to queen beds in their rooms.

I had a twin bed all through college. It worked just fine.

My parents bought me a queen when I moved out for college.

My kids have full or queen sized in their rooms. They could sleep in twins, but I really don't care. The one with a queen had the smallest bedroom but that kid loves to sleep.
