Take two colace and drink plenty of water—including hot water.

Try a suppository to get your bowels moving.

If you feel relief, then that was the issue and you should see a gastro doctor if not.

I'm PP. Mom's symptoms for celiac were what you have.

My mother had similar symptoms. Turned out to be diverticulitis. Can you schedule an appointment with a GI specialist?

I am not a doctor but don't think you can rule out gynecological issues without a transvaginal ultrasound. If you have a blockage, your first stop is a gastroenterologist. Have you tried making an appointment with a nurse practitioner at Capital Digestive Care? They are very good and the NPs may be able to squeeze you in.

Nope. But that started after the pain. First pain, then constipation, then nausea.

I am still voting for gallstones.

Bowel obstruction? Crohn’s?

I had similar symptoms and feared the same. Turned out to be IBS.

Regular ultrasound can detect gall bladder infection.

I've been in pain for 7 days that has gotten worse.

Went to doctor who said it's not appendicitis but that it could be basically anything from kidney infection, kidney stones, etc, etc.

Abdominal ultrasound showed zero masses. They couldn't see anything with a transvaginal u/s because bowel was blocking it.

The only blood test that was ordered was a white blood count to justify a CT with insurance if elevated. If not, doctor says to wait until it gets worse or better. But my understanding is that it won't show ovarian cancer.

My OB/gyn is traveling for two weeks but I have an appointment immediately when she returns on Sept 12. I'm not even sure what to ask for.

I'd love some advice on what I can do meanwhile and what to ask my ob/gyn at my appointment.

My head is going to ovarian cancer because my mom was diagnosed with it in her 40s and apparently that's a concern (although no one else in my family ever had it or any other cancers so they aren't sure).

Anyway, now I'm not sleeping (partially the pain and partially worry) so any advice matters as I wait for my next doctor appointment.

OP - have you ever been tested for gluten or dairy sensitivity? I have a family member going through some similar things (male), doctor is fairly certain it's celiac just waiting on final results

It's probably a digestive bug.

If you aren’t having bowel movements, you need to get checked. Could be a blockage or diverticulitis.

+1. I’ve had a few ovarian cysts so I’ve been down the ovarian cancer rabbit hole before. If they ruled out cysts, then it’s not cancer. If it were and you were already severely symptomatic, they would have been able to visualize something on the ovary.

Definitely not an ovarian cyst because they could see the ovary good enough in the an ultrasound to see that there was no cysts. They said there was no mass at all.

Doesn’t that rule out ovarian cancer?

I don't know.

Yes, it does. Ovarian cancer presents as a mass

SIBO? I kid you not, I had so much pain I feared ovarian cancer. Gyno said to see a gastro because for women all the stuff down there are jumbled together. Turned out, I had SIBO, which caused pain (gas in small intestine apparently hurts like hell), nausea and severe bloating. Got prescribe antibiotics that knocked out the issue.
