NO! Our family had fun but no one wants to go back. They much prefer Universal or a trip to the Caribbean.

If you don't realize that other people have preferences, and that there are other places that could credibly claim to be the most magical place on earth, I feel sorry for you. If you have the money to spring for Lightning Lanes/Genie passes, Disney can be fun. If not, you should take a look at the public blogs about wait times because popular rides regularly have wait times of 90+ minutes which can be hellish in the Florida sun. So you end up paying 200$/day per person just for tickets. Disney may be better than other amusement parks, but it's not orders of magnitude better.

Disney is so overrated and overpriced. I regret going. Total waste of time and money.

I don't want to go and don't plan to go. I don't think I will regret it.

If your kid is into Star Wars, I'd do a two day trip to go see Galaxy's Edge. It is pretty incredible.

I took my 6 and 8 yo over July 4th. My 6yo hated almost every moment. My 8yo was in seventh heaven. I didn't feel it was "magical," just very well done in terms of the overall experience. I could also get a better experience elsewhere for a lot less money. I don't think he'll miss out by not going, and if he is so inclined he can always experience it as an adult.

I say go. Make Harry Potter/US the main attraction and park hop to two places (if you can still do that) at Disney one day, one being the MK. Don't worry about all the blogs and all the mess with Disney, figure out the easy, no frills way to go and make it work.

This is one of the odder things I’ve read on this site. I seriously doubt anyone’s parents are embarrassed about not taking their kid to Disney—you were reading waaaay more into their reaction than is likely.

100 percent thing you should experience taking your child to Disney at least once. I went with my family my senior year of high school. It was a blast. It’s not too late at age ten!

I wouldn’t go unless my kid really wanted to.

I took my DD to Disneyland when she was 10. It took her a while to get sucked into the magic but then she really enjoyed it. I'm glad I took her when I did. She's never been to Disney World now, at age 19.

I’ve never been to Disney and my son is a HS junior now and never showed any interest. Actually, the opposite, he thinks Disney is lame. No regrets here.
