Read the thread in the college forum about all of the inflated grades for seniors in high school and then look at their crappy SAT scores.


I think it’s because teachers aren’t as discerning when grading. They’re quite punitive when it comes to turning in late work, however, essays or papers that would have gotten a C when we were growing up, probably get a B/B+ now.

Overall I think high school is much harder now than it ever used to be, and elementary is much easier. Middle school is similar.

Absolutely not true at my kid’s school. There is a VERY strict grading policy. Half off if it’s a day late (or turned in after class ends). Or, in some cases, the work
won’t be accepted at all. I know things were completely lax during distant learning, but that wasn’t the norm.
