Consider teaching him some sign language if he isn't talking yet.
It didn't really do anything for my daughter when she was a baby but when she was a toddler, it really bridged the communication gap.

This won't help with screaming necessarily or help you take this class (buy some of the same instruments for your house and use a youtube video instead of you need guidance) BUT it might make him a happier kid to communicate perhaps?

Just stop. The woman has cared for probably 8 to 20 kids in 25 years so I think she’s got the right to her proud opinion.

That said, of course it isn’t all nurture. Toddlers on the autism spectrum do scream a lot and often seem unhappy. I think OP is right to be concerned.

Nannies for boys with adhd and ignoring worked, but more effective is putting kids on a schedule and being very consistent. Kids thrive with a routine and boundaries. Anticipate their needs, so there’s no reason to scream.

Mine was like that. He took a LOT of one on one attention from me to learn social rules. One time I got out of paying a library fine due to the screaming (I was trying to pay and the librarians said they take care of it as they shooed me out, lol). I’ve always thought my DS was on the spectrum a bit. In the end he grew up and is in a great post college career. The younger years were really rough though. Wishing you the best.
