I like Mercedes but I’ve seen these cars break down in the middle of a highway. Did you have any problems like this? I am fine taking my car to a dealership for maintenance repairs and I am willing to pay for higher costs. I just want to avoid the situations where my car break down in the middle of a road

Mercedes are very reliable cars. People confuse reliability with cost of repair. Yes they are expensive to maintain and repair but they aren't unreliable.
That's why they aren't for poor people.

Volvo has some of the best seats in the industry. Some models also offer adjustable air suspension as an option. I think there are advantages to the higher seating position and increased driver visibility offered by a crossover/SUV particularly with a long commute. The difference when compared to my sedan is remarkable.

When we used to drive to the city, we drove a BMW X3 and then a loaded 3 series. The 3 series felt less wasteful than the x3 for just the 2 of us (dh and I commuted together) but obv an suv is safer. I love driving bmws. They’re a dream.

Mine was in the shop constantly. Even when it was under warranty, it was an inconvenience to take it to the dealership, either wait or get a loaner. Worse, it’s a safety issue when your car suddenly stalls on Wisconsin Avenue or 495. My experience was so bad, I’ll never buy another Mercedes.

What happened to Mercedes? It used to have decent reliability.. I still like how it drives..

Many issues are associated with bleeding edge technology in their cars, which are not always fully ready for prime time when released for production. Other mfgs seem to do a better job at working out kinks in their tech a little earlier in the product release cycle.

With that much driving I'd go with an EV. Plus, the Model S has autopilot/full self-driving.

Every surface isn't wrapped in leather, but is a very quiet and comfortable drive. Air conditioned seats, etc.

Love my A7. Got this because of extensive shuttling of kids around on weekends. Comfy interior with great stereo but still fun to drive.
