The ones I know are considered narcotics, controlled substances. They aren't done by out of state prescribers. So your kid would need a doctor in the state where the college is located. Once back in home state, need a new doctor.

Back in the 90s, my sisters ADHD meds kept getting stolen from the dorm.

Our child's 90 day rx via mail is Concerta.

Not locked up at college, but in a drawer - not on a desktop.

For the pp who asked, these drugs have street value, esp at college.

My son also switched to short acting Adderall. He took his first supply with him. Initially we timed it so that he could get his refills at home, but once the doctor's office went electronic with prescriptions, we just let them refill it through the university pharmacy. He doesn't take it every day. Only as needed for days heavy with work/studying.
