I'm somewhat anal about parking well, but it's super rude to let your car door hit another. If you want to send a crappy parker a message, pull in their mirror and/or pull up their windshield wipers. No need to ding someone.

I definitely try to not do it, but sometimes I find it’s necessary. (I parked on an incline, it’s windy, I have things in my hand as I exit, there isn’t a lot of space between cars, etc.)
I would much prefer someone gently touch my car door than potentially ding it because of a wayward door.
