Was he? It seemed to me that a journalist was asking him about it and he said he doesn't care and that it doesn't affect him. - Blair voter

Not that poster, but if you know Elrich personally, you know he was both complaining and taking a pot shot at a billionaire.

Which is exactly why RCV is a bad idea. Can you imagine every election taking weeks to count with multiple permutations. No one would believe the results.

1) he doesn’t understand the process and judges anyway.
2) these are HIS employees and he just throws them under the bus. He staffs them. He funds their resources. A real leader would take responsibility. Not blame.
3) both the county employees AND the citizen volunteers are working their asses off. They should be getting praise from the County Executive.

I agree with everything EXCEPT county employees "working their asses off". Perhaps? But they only need to put in a hard shift once every two years. I think we should expect more.

Ballots have to be examined by both a democrat and republican or independent volunteer for the vote to count. Those are volunteers, typically elderly. Granny can't move that fast.

Every county in Maryland has completed their full vote count at this stage except for Montgomery County, who still have not completed mail-in ballots and haven’t even started with provisional ballots. There can be no more excuses for what is clearly incompetence.

It’s fitting. And the incompetence in MoCo government will only continue if Elrich is around. Fat little ideologue with no talent for administration.

Fully agree. The most liberal county in the state can’t get counting votes right.

If they were hand counting each ballot, yes, but my understanding is they are scanning the the ballots. What takes a long time is opening the envelopes and verifying that the ballot is valid, not counting who the person votes for. With RCV the computer would do the counting. The problem would be of it makes it confusing for voters. We already have very low turnout.
