Never had one with my family. I am hoping we can all get along after my mother dies. We have a large family and she lies a lot.

I enjoy family get together (reunions) with my husbands family.

The real issue is that the DH doesn't really want to go. It would be a different story entirely if he were enthusiastic about any of these events.

Same. We have one summer vacation with my mom, my siblings and their families. We see DH's family at Thanksgiving (his parents have passed so it's just BIL/SIL and their adult kids & families). That's pretty much it for larger family get togethers. I alone will travel to CA a couple more times per year to see my mom and sister.

I went to one reunion in 2001. Relatives came in from as far as Belgium . It was half lovely, half boring.

Multiple reunions per year are not reunions. Those are just family get-togethers.

Zero. The only time we get together is weddings and funerals.

My family has a large reunion at my mom's every summer, a thousand miles from where I live. I went to the reunion in 2020. I am not planning to ever go back to the area, so that's the last reunion they get with me.

We haven’t been to any since 2013. For H’s father’s side. One for his mother’s side would consist of, MIL, FIL, BIL and his wife and kids, one aunt and uncle, and us. Not sure that qualifies as a reunion!

My mother's cousin will have one once a decade, if that. And she moved several states away a few years ago so doubt that will happen again. Other than that, if someone dies, I see them at the funeral.

On the other side, the families are very divided politically so no way that would be fun for anyone. They won't even friend one another on Facebook.

I mean it depends on what you mean by a "family reunion". Other than weddings and funerals there are almost no times when the entire extended family gets together. We do have xmas with both sets of grandparents and usually my sister-in-law and her kids and occasionally my brother and his wife, but I wouldn't consider that a family reunion.

Why is it always the man's side trying to do crap like this and guilt us into it. No reunions no regrets.

None. I don't think we've ever been to one.
