Spray it with rubbing alcohol, wait 30 seconds then wash it off.
Because big ag (along with big amazon et. al) won't let workers take bathroom breaks: https://www.sfgate.com/business/article/New-focus-on-field-sanitation-E-coli-2551035.php

It turned me off to buying any for myself. Am I crazy? I'm not even a germaphobe!

You eat rubbing alcohol and tell yourself it’s healthy?!? Don’t do this with thin skinned fruit at least!
LOL no, I wash it off.
There are so many recalls of produce and bagged lettuce etc., because they're eaten raw, that irregardless of COVID I will never stop doing this COVID-inspired step. Ever.
DP. Oh dear god please let this insane person be a troll.
Regardless, not irregardless. C’mon…

Nope, not a troll. You can get ecoli, listeria or salmonella from your lettuce if you want to but I won't. Thank you, COVID.
If you're going to sterilize your fruit, something I've done when I had a very immunosuppressed child, please use vinegar which is food safe and not rubbing alcohol.
And rinse like crazy because vinegar doesn't taste great in your berries.
If I have to rinse like crazy, might as well use rubbing alcohol! JK. I think there are produce washes you can buy in the grocery store, too, so this is not as neurotic as all that.
