Huge Black Panther fan. This movie was horrible. I feel horrible for feeling horrible about it. There is no main character. The villain was the best part of the entire movie. The whole movie is focused around Chadwick’s death (not really a superhero movie…). There were no powerful fight scenes.

So good. Definitely some sad parts but nice closure. Stay for the extra after the credits.

Marvel is ENTIRELY over-rated. Every single movie is awful. Not just this particular pair of movies. So I'm not going to apply more rigorous standards to Black hero Marvel movies than to the other terrible Marvel movies. That would be racist, and similar to people who describe female politicians as shrill or mean without bothering to notice their inherent misogyny.

Well, it was the first (and still only) black hero to get their own dedicated Marvel movie, so there's that. A lot of people liked the main actor (I did as well). The CGI was pretty horrific in the movie, as was some of the editing. The narrative was also ham handed (come on... opening shot in the projects of black kids playing basketball?). And tbh the weakest part of the movie besides what I mentioned is the actress who is now the star of the movie. Remains to be seen whether a second rate actress who is openly anti-vax and crazy will have the same draw.

Uhhh no. Blade says hello.

Black representation.

I get it. I really dislike super hero movies though. Wakanda Forever trailer looks like a hot mess to me but I acknowledge that I am not the target audience.

This is a harsh assessment of Leticia Wright but I don’t think anyone cares that she is ‘anti-vax’. I would also argue that many marvel movies have done well with ‘second rate actors’ helming the movies- I don’t exactly think Chris Hemsworth or Chris Evans are Sir Laurence Olivier or were famous before their breakout roles.

Bbbbbuuttt Chris Evans was the original Johnny Storm!!!
