VCU has a lot of combined/accelerated programs too
Out of state I would look at USF. Lots of merit and combined/accelerated programs.

Criteria:
-does not have to be Ivy or top echelon. While those are nice, I do not believe you need that to thrive or excel.
-That said, a solid education to prepare for dental school or one of the pre-health professions.

We have some obv choices but am wondering what you all think?
Also what is your opinion on schools that don't SPECIFICALLY offer pre-dental/health professional paths (be it through major or offering specific counseling to prepare for those paths).

Not everyone on pre medical/pre dental path ends up in intended profession, some doesn't like those paths, some find other interests and some can't compete. For them college name/quality/experience REALLY matters so keep that in mind when you pick your school. You only experience college once. These four years are formative.

This is good advice. Pre-med and pre-health science students should be asking colleges if undergraduates have access to a cadaver lab.
Maybe JMU? I don't know much about their programs, but when we toured they talked up the cadaver lab and said undergraduates do have access.
