Google migrants bust to Union Station… Buses have been coming in twice per week filled with hungry people who have no idea of the next steps… Church groups and the Red Cross have been servicing whole families in the right lower restaurant level of union station… Some days it just makes me wanna cry

Yes, but there are also legit safety issues in the locations they've picked. I don't even take the train to NY anymore because I don't want to deal with Union Station, especially at night.
+1 union station and the train was wonderful in the ‘80s+ after the renovation. Such a pathetic site now, and a disgrace to the city leaders to let it happen.
Exactly. They seem to want DC trashed. Why?
They’re planning a big expansion. Not of the historic building, but north of the building toward H street, and where the parking garage is. They may be letting it go in order to make a better case they need federal $ to fix it up again.
But I also read that the business that is the landlord for all the shops and stuff there is bankrupt and hasn’t been maintaining the place. It shows.

I saw some pictures of the new Union Station - they would be leaving the old part alone? I thought they were going to be replacing the entire station. That's good to hear that they'll only be expanding the "new" part. Eventually.

Exactly. It's fast resembling a refugee camp. Cannot believe this has happened in just the last 2 years.
And I don't know what this new drug is that's out that's turning people into zombies but a lot of the people who are on drugs are on something that's literally making them defecate on themselves and pee on themselves and they'll literally do it anywhere it also makes them have these glazed over eyes and they literally look like walking dead it's worse than crack whatever it is they're on.
