We have a similar small room. Made it our “office”/my dressing room.

We have a desk in there, I actually utilize it a lot for quiet, and used it for Zoom-type teacher conferences since 2020. There is a credenza-type dresser that I keep my clothes in, as well as the closet. I’ve decked it out to my tastes. I have a mirror, everything nicely stored for getting dressed, including a bench.

We had a small bedroom like that at the top of our stairs. We took the wall off that the door was on and opened the whole room to the hallway. We lined the side walls with bookshelves and put a chaise lounge between them (in front of the thankfully centered window). It became a nice landing spot at the top of the stairs, a place to read, a place to hang at night while the kids were getting ready for bed, a sunny spot in the afternoon, etc.

I'd recommend a guest room, if you don't have one. I have a room like this and we have a full-size sleeper sofa in there (it's also my office).

You can go that route and use it primarily as a TV room, homework space, or craft room.

I would use it as a cozy tv room. I personally think tvs need their own room so that people can watch without taking over common areas and disturbing others (or being disturbed by others also trying to use the space).

I was just coming to suggest a Murphy bed, if you have the wall space.

Otherwise, toss a Neverflat airbed in the closet for when you need a guest room. The rest of the time, make it a quiet place to hang out when the rest of the family is watching a TV show you hate.

Don't like the first one at all but that second one is really cute! NP

The first one looks too overcrowded at best.
It really showcases how small the room is.
(But that doggy pictured is adorable so if he came w/the room……)
Lol.

The second photo looks more clean + streamlined but the bed may not be large or comfortable enough for some of your guests.

A "cozy room." Put in a twin daybed, make it comfy, add some fun lights and pillows, small decor/storage as needed.

If you enjoy sewing 🧵- how about a sewing room?

Or if you enjoy crafting - make it into a crafting room.
You can put in a reasonably large, flat table to work on your crafts.

If you enjoy art - maybe a painting 🎨 studio.
If you love to read - you can create a den where you can store all your books on bookshelves.

Etc.

You’d need to be a misfit to sleep in either of those beds. That is decidedly not cozy.

You have room for a queen which is 60x80. Or do a Murphy bed so you can use the room for crafts or reading when people aren’t over.
