I had a roommate who wore a lot of dry clean only tops. Dry cleaning really doesn't get the stank out of clothing, so over time all her stuff would reek. I didn't have the heart to tell her why I never wanted to borrow any of her clothes, when I would borrow from our other roommate.

Showering twice a day is excessive and frankly not great for your skin. I do not shower every day unless I have exercised. So maybe once or twice a week I do not shower. I make sure I don’t smell and you better believe my DH would be telling me! He’s brutally honest.

You sound abrasive, it doesn't seem like it would be a big deviation to just tell her smells.

How do you know this? If she told you he said something, then you could carefully say that yes, you've noticed too. And then ask her if she has a health condition. Otherwise, she should consider bathing daily and use better products.

I don't think there is any good way to tell her. Her DH should tell her. I don't believe she can't smell herself. And if she matter of factly told you she doesn't shower daily then she clearly doesn't have a problem with how she smell.

Distance or Deal with it.

I think you would help her by telling her in the nicest way possible. I know people who use no soap, shampoo + deod. for "enviro reasons"+ just plain stink to a gross degree.

If you do not feel comfortable telling her, and you are feeling generous, you could give her a few items + say you found a great 2-1 sale.
