Not really, i don't know of any 5 years olds at all with a bedtime lower than 8:30
NP here. 7-7:30 pm bedtime is pretty common for age 5.
I've i always viewed anything under 8:00 to be excessively early for school age children considering how late they get home from school and the fact that they have homework which can really eat into their personal time plus the fact that its still very bright out at 8:00pm so they could be outside playing instead of laying in bed.
My 6yo is typically exhausted by 8pm and will be laying against me while we read books. Falls asleep quickly once I leave. They are pretty active during the day right now though.
Wake time is inconsistent but overall they wake up earlier during the summer, sometimes even at 530! But when they are sufficiently tired out they will typically sleep past 6. Even with their room being dark I'm convinced it still has to do with the earlier sunrise.
