My Dyslexic kid did not like ESY, especially lunch or when they had to walk in the halls. It was very loud and chaotic. She said lots of kids would be yelling and things. I know that these are issues with other disabilities and I tried to explain that to her, but sounds are an issue with her.

I also hated that we got no work sent home to see what she did and no report at the end. Also long bus rides.

Looking for an in nature camp with swimming and outdoor activities that provides support for dyslexic kids. I don’t necessarily expect hardcore academics, but a chance to connect with other dyslexic kids and also to maintain hard-won reading skills over the summer in supportive/ fun environment.

Mid-Atlantic preferred but also interested in northeast, like Maine.

Isn't this what ESY is for?

ESY has not worked for my kid. There is no specific dyslexia services (FCPS) and most students are behind but in different areas. My kids did not like it.

We make it work in the budget and pay for private services in the summer to keep up with reading and writing.

Kodiak, in Canada, might be a good option.
