Family reunion trip to Disney - no covid.
Flew to an east coast beach - no covid.
Multiple excursions for a travel sport including group meals, hotels - no covid.

I did get covid…during a stretch of time when I never left my hometown and wasn’t doing much of anything!

Went to Barcelona in May on a trip that we had rescheduled twice due to covid. Wore N95s in the airport and on the plane (except for a brief period eating) and everywhere else indoors in Barcelona. Found lots of restaurants with outdoor seating. We have to be very careful due to our age and health issues. We did not get covid.

^^A few more details: We stayed in AirBnBs in both cities, and we rode plenty of Ubers while in Lima (masked).

I've been all over for work and leisure since mid 2020 and haven't had covid.... until this week in which I was home and my husband brought it back from the gym. So now we are home sick and doing okay.

To answer your questions I've been to - Turks and Caicos, all over Montana, 6 cities in FL on different trips, Manchester NH, Newport RI, vacation destinations in VA, Spain, Anguilla, Antigua, Italy, BVIs all since March 2020.

You can catch it anywhere. I am happy we caught it at home where we have everything we need. But we would have made do if we were elsewhere.

Went to Switzerland in early June for work. Went out for dinner and drinks every night, stayed with friends at their apartment one night. Had my mask off most of the time while on the plane.

Didn't get COVID. I also got my 2nd booster two weeks before the trip and had Omicron in early February.

If you're traveling overseas, get a booster.

Traveled by plane in March to caribbean- no covid. Husband went on a memorial day trip to Maine by plane, and stayed in an airbnb with like 8 of his friends who had all flown in from other places- none of them got covid. However, I also currently have a friend who flew to Maine 4 days ago and came down with covid yesterday, and another friend who flew to CA a few weeks ago and got covid 2-3 days after arriving, so, it seems like a crapshoot and not uncommon.

New Jersey, early march 2020, masks were not a thing, no Covid,
Florida January 2021, no mask, eat where I want, no Covid
Europe summer 2021, no mask except on the plane, eat where I want, no Covid
Florida April 2022, no mask, got Covid. I survived.

So, as always, the moral of the story is that travel, in and of itself, is not the reason for covid spread. It's about how and what you do in transit and at your destination. If you mask indoors (with K95/N95 type), you probably won't get covid. In the summer it's pretty easy to do most things outdoors, so travel can be done without major covid risk if you want.

Just got back from Colorado. We all feel great. Dropped off my son at camp on the last day of our trip and they rapid tested him- no covid. We spent a week there, we never masked -not in airport, plane or hotel.

And despite traveling on July 4th we had no airport delays!

Party of four adults flew to Orlando and went to Universal for three days in October 2021. Masks were still required on planes at that time and were supposedly required or encouraged indoors at Universal but most people did not wear them and it was not enforced. No one got sick.

As far as I know, I still haven't gotten COVID despite one of my kids bringing it home from school last winter.

In the last 12 months I have traveled to NYC, Boston (2x), Mexico, multiple driving/hotel trips around VA/MD/WV for work, California, New Mexico, Texas. No COVID. Masked in airports/airplanes when required, stopped about a month or so after the mandate was lifted. Never masked in hotels unless required in the lobby. Masked in taxis, subways, restaurants as required or during high local surges, same as I do at home. Fully vaxxed w/ booster.

Traveled for work to a place with no mask requirements. Colleagues mask here in DC, but hardly anyone did on the road. No COVID. I wore a mask on the plane, in the airport, on the shuttle buses, etc. Not while out to eat. This trip took place during a relatively low-COVID period.

Oh yeah, I’m one of the maskless travelers who has been Covid-free, but this post reminded me: I also went to a business dinner where the people on each side of me (as well as others at the table) tested positive a day or two later. We were talking at a distance of 1-2 feet for two hours, eating food. Still nothing. I think I’m immune.

I have traveled around the US for work and to Italy for vacation and none of us got Covid. We are all vaccinated and boosted.
