Wrong. The cap is $9950 PER ticket.
But that is the new cap, not necessarily the guaranteed amount. I'm just saying that I am not completely sure that they would give you $10,000 per ticket. Perhaps, perhaps not. Regardless, I would take it either way!

My DD and I got $5000 each flight credits once on United. Not long after one of those horrible-PR incidents.
And it’s per ticket. Four ticketed family members would indeed be $40,000 in the Delta scenario.

Yeah Delta got me with 600 in vouchers once when I was flying for work. We are not wealthy by any means and had a young baby. My DH wanted to go to a wedding but the majority of cost concern was flights so I took the delay and he got to go to both the bachelor party and wedding since the flights were taken care of.
I would miss a whole trip for 10k cash. Theres no trip I am going on (even as a family of 3) that is 10k so it would be a plus even if we lost our hotel, etc.

Look, I would still take it. Without kids, I'd probably do it for a couple hundred over the cost of rebooking. $10,000 is clear profit, even with trying to rebook.
I'm not saying that I wouldn't take it too. But I'm just correcting the view that a family of 4 would get $40,000

Look, I would still take it. Without kids, I'd probably do it for a couple hundred over the cost of rebooking. $10,000 is clear profit, even with trying to rebook.
