How could you ever show that someone wasn't admitted because of these bribes? How did it hurt them, in a way that could be compensated in a court of law. Putting this guy in jail is a terrible waste of taxpayer $$.
People should not be punished with jail time unless you can point to a specific victim? That's a very odd system of justice.

Plenty of groups other than asians have an uphill battle.
Affirmative action certainly does not help Asian Americans (the most vulnerable minority group in the US) and which group has such an uphill battle other than Asian Americans in the college admissions process?

Wait, did those kids graduate from Harvard - they were actually allowed to stay??
All the kids (probably a hundred or more since many had more than 1 kid involved) graduated. I am not aware of any kid being expelled or having to return their degree.

So roughly about 5-7% non-whites and about 94% white parents. Many Hispanics and people from the Middle East are classified as Caucasians so under that scenario, 97.2 % whites. Happy now?

That was the point but they lacked the skills to impose a significant sentence on anyone who could really afford a defense. Best and brightest just don't go AUSA anymore.
I’m not sure it’s skills. I suspect it has more to do with the way courts treat sentencing. Admittedly, I have not be following closely.
AUSA jobs are very competitive and most are very highly qualified.
