We are very grateful to be able to afford this and the costs of the SN kid. Then again, probably one of us would need to quit our job if we didn't have her, so it is a worthwhile investment.

So probably high school.

This. I'm a 24/7 live-in nanny for a child with behavior challenges and special needs. I also tutor him and handle everything when the parent is working out of state. I've already been told that my employer wants me to stay until he goes to college or she retires, whichever comes first.

Scheduling conflicts? Your nanny should have had a set schedule! And taxes are handled easily with a payroll service.

Making my kids miss after school activities, using our vacation days for sick days and holidays, going back to doing my kids laundry and keeping their closets and drawers up to date, grocery shopping and food prep, finding a date night sitter I can trust, and handling drop offs and pick ups, simply does not seem easier!

I hope our nanny stays with us forever.

I didn’t like the aftercare program at our school and wanted DS to do sports with different groups as well as music lessons. Nanny still handles his laundry, errands, ordering, and cooking. It’s expensive but infinitely easier than your life!

What do you do for sick days and school holidays?
