+100 & all the candidates know SROs are back in schools so focusing on them is a moot point.

With all of the recent Supreme Court rulings, I think having Democrats in charge across the board is not just my personal preference, but a good insurance policy for a very Blue community in a Blue state. I don't think Elrich works well with the Council & I do think we need to address the countywide housing shortage. Although I voted for Elrich last time, my vote is now 100% for Riemer. Blair isn't even a successful businessman (not like I would value that over experience as an elected official or in local government); his dad started his business, which Blair took over. Totally reminds me of Trump getting $1M from his dad & then folks crowing about what a successful businessman he is.

Do you agree with HOW the decision was made? The Board’s panel included 3 students. Just 3. No community-wide survey was used to inform decisions. People who wanted to speak on behalf of SROs weren’t able to get slots during council hearings. Principals unanimously showed support for them, but council members with zero experience within schools ignored the principals’ experience.

Police aren’t inherently bad people. Reimer would like us all believe that they are. Whether or not SROs belong in schools is no longer the issue. The issue is how he pushed through his desire without paying any respect to voices who disagreed with him. He also intentionally painted officers as an enemy. He now stands on a platform of “rebuilding the community’s faith in the police” when he is partly responsible for any eroding trust within the county.

Yeah it’s really hard to tell who Riemer is pulling votes from. His supporters seem very fixated on Blair not being a “real” democrat, but also criticize Elrich as too NIMBY. My guess is it’s a mix but could be wrong.

Riemer lost me with his poor treatment of county employees. He is partly responsible for the demise of MCPD, which is why they are currently understaffed and struggling to fill recruit classes. He continues to attack them, refusing to acknowledge the very good work they already do. I’d be thrilled to hear that he went on a ride-along or attended the citizen’s academy so he could learn a little bit about them.
