From Google, I’m guessing it was green giant snackwiches.

I know what you are talking about lived on Long Island as a kid, I think they were called TOASTERINOS. The flavors that I recall were in their jingle ... pizzaburger, grilled cheese, or sloppy joe.... I don't recall shrimp (I love shrimp but not sure if that would go in a toaster or that it would be economical, just trying to recall what my mom would have purchased for us).

I think I know what you're talking about. They DID do a pizza variety, but also a chicken ala king, a chicken chung king, and I think something with a shrimp filling. I've been wondering what they were too. I was only four or five at the time.

You know what? I bet it WAS the pizzaburger flavor. It probably was just a very mild hint of tomato flavor added to the ground beef.

No, but that's the general idea.

The filling was a plain meat paste.

I explored that brand more and found this Toastwich picture..

And that is how I remember them looking. So maybe it was a trial flavor or something?

The texture of the meat filling, if I recall correctly, was like liverwurst. It was very finely ground, anyhow. Like a meat paste.

It was kid food, nothing fancy.

Ya don’t say!
