I am also not a tampon person, and the reusable cups are awful for me, but I have found that the disposable cups are amazing (like Soft Cups). I don't feel them at all, they work really well, you can wear them for 12 hours, and there is no issue of dryness or discomfort.

How do you have sex...?

I can't fathom never having used a tampon - are you from a culture that finds them dirty?

Lots of options with the silk applicators...

Oh geese OP. Yes, you can wear a tampon. They aren’t too big for you. Get a thin kind with plastic applicator like Tampax pearls light absorbency. Aim toward your tailbone when you insert and don’t try to put it in until your flow is pretty consistent (not the first spotting).

+1. Barring a medical problem, any woman should be able to use a tampon. It may have been user error on the first try. I remember when I was 13 and first tried using them I incorrectly inserted and it was very uncomfortable

If it’s dry, you probably used one of those awful cardboard applicator tampons. Try the nice plastic silk ones.

Try the Tampax pearl ones, that what I used as a teen (I now use a cup). Regular flow, smooth plastic applicator. The blood should work as a lubricant but it can feel dry if your period is very light.

+1just keep trying several times or days and you will get it. Follow the instruction manual. I had a difficult time with intercourse before I had kids, but I was able to put a tampon in when I needed to for pool/beach.

If you have inserted a penis in your vagina, a tampon is significantly smaller. It should not feel uncomfortable as long as you are on your period and you don’t have a medical issue that makes any kind of penetration painful.

Get a menstrual cup. They are super comfortable and 0 leaking. Some brands sell "teen" ones that may be good for you.

Im not a tampon person either OP, but I suck it up and wear it for the pool/beach. I don't think a young girl who just started her period should be expected to use a tampon, but if you've birthed babies or had sex I think you can kind of put up with a tampon.

Wear a tampon or a cup. You haven’t said why you don’t wear either.

Wait what? Wear a tampon. A cup.

You’ve never been to the pool or beach on your period? Don’t you go on vacation?

I really don’t get how you haven’t figured this out. Get in the pool with your kids
