Also, I used reusable diapers and the swim ones we had would not have fit my average sized child at age 4. Where does one find a reusable swim diaper for an almost 5yo?

I’m also curious where this is so we don’t go there.

That being said, I do think it's a bit much to expect fully potty trained 4yos to have to wear one JUST for swim classes. My 2yo has been fully out of diapers for six months now and I can't imagine having to buy swim diapers for her for the next two years.

Would you happen to know if these can be slipped on like underpants?

We bought DS the disposable swimmers just because we figured there would be no need for a reusable one once swim lessons had concluded. But really the price of the disposable swimmers isn't really much better.

Maybe they find that kids don’t want to “interrupt” the lesson or they’re too distracted so they’re more likely to have accidents? I mean probably what happened is a series of poop accidents and then a rule that is on the conservative side. I don’t see why it’s a big deal.

Because it's just more plastic for landfills, that's going to end up as hormone disruptors. And it's an added financial cost for the swim lesson. If management wants diapers on all little kids, they should buy them out of their pool budget!
