Building affordable housing requires builders. Of course they're motivated by profit. Have you ever been involved with construction? No one in their right mind would do that if there wasn't profit to be had.

Uh, creating more affordable housing and densifying our cities is part of the Administration agenda for the country. If you are opposing these things, maybe rethink your party affiliation. Same with bike lanes.

This discussion has been helpful. I’m voting for Frumin. He is not crazy left. Seems liberal + practical which is a good combination in my book.

She’s not running. But it’s interesting that folks that maybe were happy to vote Cheh are now saying that candidates with kids in private school is a bridge too far. It’s funny.

Then she’s not relevant. And “maybe” isn’t particularly convincing.

Congress already tries to run DC. I don’t want a council member so deeply in the pocket of DFER.

Frumin maybe wasn’t a leftist but he now has aligned himself with the most leftist, fringe elements to form his coalition. This isn’t like a presidential race where he can tack back to the middle for the general. This is the election. It doesn’t matter anymore what he used to be, this is who he is now because this is his coalition.

They aligned with him because Silverman ran a poll, probably to determine who she wanted to back in the race, given the troubling components of Goulet's campaign. She saw that in order to beat Goulet, others would need to be pushed out, and clearly Frumin must have been in the best position to that goal. He didn't ask for it. In my view, Frumin is a traditional midwest liberal, not a progressive. So probably more like Cheh than anything else, perhaps even to the right of Cheh, if we are being honest.
