We always pay when we invite others. You can bring snacks to share if you like but its not expected. If you bring a cooler with drinks - most pools (public and private) do not allow glass bottles for obvious reasons, so stick with cans or plastic.

It's just a trip to the pool. Offer to pay as that's polite. They'll decline because that's polite too. Have fun. No big deal, no need for gifts.

I would bring cash and also a gift for their home. That's proper etiquette. Maybe some lovely decorative items or pool towels. Or something to hold their pool passes.

I would never let my guests pay. They can’t anyway, we buy guest passes through our online accounts in bundles of 5. I’m not going to be like, sure, give me $15 for the 3 of you, in cash.

Its nice to offer. Ours only allows payment online for guest passes but we'd pay.

They should pay but I would offer. Ours, too, is $5 per guest.

It’s nice to offer but I always pay for guests if I’ve invited. You can always bring snacks or drinks.

My kids are older (11, 13) so they often get invited and go without me - but I ALWAYS send cash so they can pay for themselves. The host is welcome to decline if they want. Then they can treat to snacks or something too.

These are great pool etiquette ideas, especially appreciate when people move far far away from my asthmatic kid and all other people when applying spray sunscreen and bug repellent. Thank you!

You can find out by sending your host a text asking them what the guest fees are and asking if they take cash or check. Just say you want to make sure you have enough to cover the invitation and that you're very excited to be going.

If the host responds with the cost, then they'll expect you to pay. Otherwise they'll tell you that its covered, either that they paid or they have guest passes. We have guest passes at our neighborhood pool and if we invite, we would use our guest passes. If we are running low (we get 20 free per season), then we will buy additional guest passes to cover our guests. But not everyone does the same thing.

Since they extended the invite to you, then they likely are paying for you to enjoy the pool 🏊🏻‍♂️ along w/them.

However I would bring some money on the off chance that they do not.

I like the idea of offering to purchase lunch or snacks for them…..or perhaps bring enough to share w/everyone.
