I think they stick with lie because fraud has legal implications, and they are trying to skirt issues with defamation.

Then it changed, to fill air-time and add drama to life, and then it changed again when MSM decided that the appropriate way to report on Trump was to act like Trump.

Reminder: Mueller got 34 criminal indictments including Trump's top campaign officials, and was yanked back from pursuing many of the most juicy areas for investigations, particularly Trump's many business dealings in Russia.

They should not call it a lie because lying is not illegal. Fraud is what it is and it is illegal. I fully back this decision.
