I don’t think there’s a lot of brain power there anymore, because that tweet is just ridiculous. For people that work on the Hill and live in proximity, sure, I get it. But for the “average” DC resident we were watching it in TV just like the rest of America. In my own lifetime I can think of many incidents that were actually traumatizing for the city of DC and not “Washington”. This would include off the top of my head: the Air Florida crash, the sniper, 911, and anthrax. Old timers would probably include the ‘68 riots, obviously. Jan. 6 just doesn’t even compare, but it’s a perfect encapsulation of their smugness.
You're right. Nobody in DC actually works in the Capitol or has loved ones who work/ed in the Capitol and the ongoing GQP coup and the riot where they tried to kill Democrat politcians is all overblown. Thanks for checking in, Jack Del Rio. Welcome to DCUM!
And why should people be traumatized by the 911 emergency system? I mean the DC version does suck big time, but why should people be traumatized by it?

They endorsed Vince Gray, who actively tried to kill the streetcar

What is the GGW lady who thinks that Jan. 6 emotionally scarred the whole city saying?
Is she laying low after getting dragged for that nonsense?

I think their endorsement logic was very reasonable, and in fact I had expected them to endorse Bowser due to the candidates’ records….unless R White came out against single family zoning. Which technically he did in their questionnaire, but c’mon…he didn’t mention this at all in his campaign! He didn’t answer the Post question on it (or ANY of their questions), and in his tweet about the Post questions he STILL didnt give a clear stance on single family zoning. I think they were right not to take some of his questionnaire answers at face value.

looks like they are so scared of being called out for inconsistencies that they disabled comments. Alex has really steered this ship poorly, but even attention for screwing up is attention, right?

I wish you'd come up with this idea earlier!
