wow this is my mother. That woman is always coming up with nonsense tasks for me to do and I’m a single mom with a full time job. She’s done this to my dad our entire lives and he loses it with her. Nothing is going to help or change at this point so I just ignore it. “You should really do xyz” me: yep mmhmm.

My mom loves to text me before I take a trip and make a list of what I should pack so I "don't forget".

Don’t speak to her.

Ask her to please stop telling you because you just forget, tell her to write it down instead, like a list, and then give you the list. If she tries telling you instead remind her to put it on the list. Train her to make a list of all her helpful advice.

Then you could look at it or not as you wish. Might be a good idea to look at it, something might be useful.
