Please explain how she has postpartum depression having used a surrogate.

So does that mean you don't believe in any medical intervention at all? Like if someone has cancer, they shouldn't have chemotherapy etc because there are plenty of other people in the world and maybe the fact they they got cancer means they shouldn't live if it involves intervention?

Talk to a surrogate. The ones I've known were not poor. They were middle class, like being pregnant (most surrogates have already had children of their own), like the idea of helping other people create a family, and use the compensation from surrogacy to send their own kids to college, buy a house, or prepare for retirement.

I'm sure there are surrogates who get exploited but my impression of the surrogacy practice in the US right now is that the surrogates are generally very willing participants who have an asset (fertility, relative comfort with pregnancy, usually a history of uncomplicated and easy pregnancies) and want to leverage it for financial gain. All the surrogates I've met (three) were married and had young kids and I can't say any of them were exploited. One had done it twice, for the same couple.

Don’t a lot of actresses do the same? This one just happened to say it out loud.

Adding that it also doesn't help she is complaining about how exhausting twins are but yes they are

I think this is fairly common for actresses. I don't think it's a "new trend" or something that will ever become that popular because having kids via surrogacy is hard. It's easier to get pregnant and have the baby and not have to find a surrogate, go through conception (which might turn up fertility issues, you never know), deal with the legalities around surrogacy (you need a good lawyer and airtight paperwork), and then still parent a newborn (or in this case, two). Surrogacy is going to remain a relatively rare occurrence for very well-resourced people in specific, circumstances. It is not for the faint of heart.

I watched Lovecraft Country and don't remember this actress, though.

This is probably very common in Hollywood and at least she's being public about it.

I mean, this surprises me just because of the celeb baby bump culture....she could have probably gained 100K followers by documenting her pregnancy journey. 20 years ago, sure, but now? She'd be in every magazine, interviews on how she stays fit, keeps calm, dresses, etc.

To each their own but i feel there is more to this story- feels like a half truth

She wasn't implying anything, she was talking about the choice she and her husband made, with respect to their lives. It's so annoying when people try to make other people's decisions about themselves.
