Seriously. Is op trying to attack Hollywood? Pop culture? Weird.
What exactly are you implying about Jews and Hollywood?
I read the thread as Jews and Catholics are represented a lot in movies. Especially in Netflix at the moment almost every movie has a Jewish reference or character. So the question is are these two religions the big 2 in the USA.
Christianity yes in the USA but even in the US I would say no to Jews being a major religion. Worldwide Christianity and Islam are the major religions. I feel Muslims are not represented in movies because it's more of an unknown to western society. There are negative beliefs and so it's not fun for a movie and most likely wouldn't be as welcomed by Western cultures. Interestingly Bollywood movies do extremely well but not as much with westerners but obviously Indians line up to see them even in western countries they are big business The content in movies has to relate in some way to the audience hence Jews and Christians being represented more in western movies as they can relate more to those religions.
To be fair though Netflix has a range of movies which have international appeal so you can watch movies produced in other couturier which do have more diversity. It's just that what is aimed at Western countries is usually focused around what we know or are used to.

Jewish and Catholic people are funny and interesting and we can laugh at ourselves. Christians tend to be thought of in the Holy roller or fundamentalist stereotypical way, which is not very funny.

I know so many "lapsed" and ex Catholics who are totally Catholic seeming (without attending Church, obviously). Similarly, I know plenty of Jewish people who identify as culturally, but not religiously, Jewish. I left the Catholic church a long time ago, but I still make the sign of the cross in stressful situations, I say a prayer to Saint Anthony when I can't find something and I utter charming phrases, such as, "Jesus, Mary and Joseph!" when I'm angry or frustrated.
Muslims are religious, culture, and government, but still habds-off in the movie abd TV industry (at least mainstream).
