My 18 yo has worn boys/mens shorts and pants for years, primarily because they have real pockets.

Is she able to wear a womens size? My daughter found so cute longer shorts (but with skinny legs) at old navy. They are super cute

They do suck. Not every tween/teen wants to wear hot pants and white tennis skirts. I spend hours online trying to find things that my daughter will like and I can accept. It’s a struggle.

Poke around at Target and they have lots of jean shorts that are longer.

Boy shorts! This summer, I've bought shorts at Hanna and from H&M for my tween girl who likes longer (above the knee) knit shorts. They work especially well if your kid is slim/pre-puberty.
