Sometimes - we have a few shows that watch together, and on the weekend sometimes we watch movies together. The majority of our viewing is separate though because we have different taste in TV.

My husband picks a movie and I read the Wikipedia of it so I can tune in and out while reading my phone.

We watch TV together a lot. But we negotiate and compromise and find stuff we both want to watch. If there's a show only one of us is interested in - or the other actively dislikes - usually we don't have that on at night. It might be something we watch if the other person is out of town (or busy).

Or if it's a special occasion thing one loves and the other hates - the Super Bowl, which I can't stand and my husband likes to watch, or Cobra Kai the weekend a new season drops - then, sure, it's on, and the other person does something else.

But we like spending time together on the couch at night so we're in a pretty good rhythm of picking stuff we both want to see.

Yes. But, not really TV as such. We got a large TV for Christmas and watch the Dune, or some movie or Obi-Wan together. Most of the time, we sit next to each other and watch different shows on our laptops.
I could never stand watching sports.

Sometimes we have “our” shows that we watch together, but then they end. We have nothing right now. My DH is a bigger TV watcher & I prefer to read.

Yes, we are always in the middle of some series. He's my best friend, and we enjoy shows together (among other things)

We do both. We usually pick a show to watch together, and invite the kids to watch with us (one or both might once in a while). But we also watch the stuff we are interested in separately. Him: Marvel stuff. Me: Dramas.

But I like the experience of watching together. It can be cozy and enjoyable.

Definitely together. We both watch things the other doesn’t like sometimes, but we usually save those things to watch alone when the other person is busy. My husband will sometimes follow a game on his phone while we’re watching a show, if he doesn’t want to miss the game.

No. I very rarely want to watch anything - I prefer to read or do other things - but he likes to watch something every night. If I do want to watch something, it’s usually related to some interest I have that he’s not into.

My dh turns on sports and I either Watch on my phone w headphones or at this point just go watch something else alone. Never watch together. It’s a shame.

We do a combination - my DH and I have a show we watch together (but probably only watch a few nights a week), some nights only one of us is home and some nights we watch separately. I think it's good to do both - wouldn't like always doing one or the other.

I also have one show going on with my younger DS that no one else watches and have a show with my older DS that we are both watching separately but discuss. It's a new world.

We have one TV in our house, with 3 kids. My wife (23 years) and I have different series that we like to watch together; we tend to watch one show a night. I watch sports or something she wouldn't like on my iPad when I get the chance.

Yes. During COVID my family found different shows we’d watch based on the combination of family members available to watch.
